STUDENTS LEARN CIRCUS SKILLS

Students from Riverside Special School, St Paul’s Cray, paid a visit to Orpington College for an afternoon of circus skills.  

The event was held as an ice breaker between 6th Form students from Riverside and students from Orpington College as the beginning of a planned inclusion link. Students from Riverside and Orpington plan to visit each other and take part in some activities together.

Beverley Panter, a youth worker from the college, saw a circus skills event as a good way for everyone to meet and get involved with the activities. The afternoon was a great success as it really helped the students to get to know each other.

Carl Edwards, Assistant Head at Riverside, said ‘The circus skills event was an excellent way for the two groups to meet and interact. Our students have been working on a circus project, so this dovetailed nicely. I look forward to a regular link as everyone got on so well and really enjoyed themselves.’
