This is a brand new Level 3 course at Orpington. The qualification gives learners an in-depth understanding of the skills needed for an active career in the uniformed public services, including the Police, Fire Service, Ambulance Service, Army, Navy, Royal Marines, Royal Air Force, Security and Coastguard. The BTEC National Extended Diploma in Public Services can also help progress to a more responsible job if already in employment. The course is designed to be adaptable to learners’ needs, interests and career aspirations and consists of a variety of specialist units relevant to working in the uniformed Public Services. The structure of the course allows learners to focus on their interests within the sector. This includes outdoor and adventurous expeditions, police powers, responding to emergency service incidents, war, conflict and terrorism, physical preparation and fitness for the uniformed public services. Whilst on the course learners will also have the opportunity to participate in land-based adventurous activities, water-based activities and residential outdoor expeditions. |
